Basic Facts About the Missouri Judiciary

This Basic Facts document provides an overview about the kinds of cases the state courts handle, trends in the numbers of cases filed, the judges and staff who work in the court system, the courts’ budget and other financial issues, and the courts’ use of technology.


Annual Reports

The Missouri Judicial Report and the Supplement are published every year and available on the website approximately six months after the end of the fiscal year. The state fiscal year runs from July 1 through June 30. The Annual Report provides a brief overview of statewide caseload information and activities of the judicial branch. Supreme Court Publications

The office of Supreme Court Publications offers online services available to lawyers and the public on a subscription basis. The new MAX search provides access to pending legal arguments and decisions of appellate court cases by searching criteria such as subject, statute, attorney name, opinion author and more. In addition, Supreme Court Publications offers both hard-copy and online versions of the Missouri Approved Instructions – Criminal and Missouri Approved Charges – Criminal.
