The Judges of the Southern Appellate District

Judges on the Missouri Court of Appeals, Southern District, are appointed under the Missouri Nonpartisan Court Plan. The judges sit in three-member panels that rotate on an annual basis. Judges must be at least 30 years old, residents of their district, United States citizens for at least 15 years and Missouri voters for nine years before their selection. All Court of Appeals judges serve 12-year terms. A chief judge is elected by the judges in the district and serves for two years.
