Clerk’s Office & Filing Information

 

The Clerk’s office organizes and directs the clerical and administrative operations of the court. Daily duties of the clerk’s staff include handling telephone and in person inquiries and procedural request from attorneys and pro se litigants throughout the state; receiving filings such as motions, writs, records on appeal, briefs and recording the submissions on the case management system; creating and maintaining files in each case pending in the Court; and copying and distributing opinions and orders of the Court.

 

The Clerk’s Office of the Eastern District Court of Appeals is open for business from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The office observes the normal state and federal holidays.

 

Electronic Filings:

After April 2, 2012, all attorneys representing parties in this Court must use the electronic filing system for all filings. Link to electronic filing: courts.mo.gov/page.jsp?id=46542. Help with electronic filing in this Court is available here.

 

Self-represented parties may deliver or mail filings to the Clerk’s Office at One Post Office Square, Third Floor, 815 Olive Street, St. Louis, Missouri 63101.

 

Drop box filings at the Old Post Office are allowed for filings Monday - Friday (except holidays) from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. The drop box is located on the mall level near the elevator vestibule at the Court’s location in the Old Post Office. Documents must be filed in the Clerk’s Office during business hours of 8:30 a.m. through 5 p.m.
